I remember when I first came to Bali

Jun 04, 2023

I remember when I first came to Bali. I was around 20 years old living in Australia attending Bond University & the Meditation Institute doing my yoga teacher training and teaching yoga.

I thought “What a dream” to host a yoga retreat in Bali.

At that point in my life, it was definitely a pipe dream.

Yoga really wasn’t even that cool in 1999 either; my main clientele were women in their 50s and a couple of Australian rugby players that were forced.

I had no idea how my dream would ever happen.

However, every time my 20-year-old self thought about hosting a retreat here my stomach would fill with butterflies, and my heart would beat a little faster…

I never let go of that dream, and it makes my heart so grateful thinking back on 20-year-old me in Bali that I had filled that dream years ago. And back for more!

On my first time in Bali, I stayed at the Hotel Seminyak, which used to be the end of the road.

I walked from my current location to the exact area today to see how much it has changed…

They are now so many hotels and shops, and the road goes all the way through where it used to be rice fields and land.

I can relate to Bali with the growth it has undergone over the past 25 years and myself.

So much has changed yet a lot remains the same.

I am still grateful for the old Bali 25 years ago and Covid Bali.

I am also grateful for a busy, crazy total capacity Bali as well…

🥂 Cheers 🥂 to living dreams and releasing our timelines.
