As most of you know, I sold my thriving yoga and Barre studio on Maui 4.5 years ago. It was one of the most clear & difficult choices in my life.
I loved the community and my space – I still do! It was my heart and vision for 20 years of my yoga/barre career.
So why did I sell?
Because something in my body was screaming for more. I always knew I wanted to serve my community through yoga, movement, and meditation and now I wanted more – to go deeper and to serve higher.
I just kept waking up in the middle of the night having visions empty studio. I kept thinking – your time is up, your time is up you have to wrap this up it is coming to an end.
Logically it didn’t make sense, but in my heart, it felt right, so I began to follow little avenues to sell – and everything began to flow it’s almost like every bit of the path just kept lining up. I had multiple buyers and again chose who I thought would continue to serve the community best.
Fast forward about 6 months and I felt like I was having a midlife crisis or identity crisis I don’t know what to call it – sounds dramatic I know but also true.
I put my whole heart and life of the previous 20 years in the making creating the space and amazing strong women who came daily.
Now who am I ? What do I do – Ei Yi Yi I would freak out when people would ask that – “I don’t know.” or “Nothing” is actually an acceptable answer in LA.
I started to doubt myself what the hell did I do – I wanted to run back to my comfort zone when I was being called for new growth and expansion.
So I took all the courses, I read all the books, retreats, hired different coaches – one of the “coaches” I hired yawned in my face while I was telling him about all of this. He yawned – I had enough!
This continued for a few more years of soul searching and deeper work than I have ever committed to in my life!
